Jared's Games and Play Time

Our time here at the apartment in Houston as been a good chance for Jared to learn how to find ways to have fun without a room full of books and toys to keep him entertained. He only has a select few toys we were able to take in the car with us, so a lot less than he's used to. I have to admit, for a few days he was a little fussier than usual and we ended up watching a little more cartoons than usual so he wouldn't be so bored.
But, lately he's done a really good job of finding new ways to have fun. His favorite place to play has been my and Ryan's bedroom. He likes driving his cars on the bed frame and the window sill, and whenever he gets an otter-pop he always has to go into our bedroom and shut the door and eat it at the window sill. He's so funny!
First nap in a big boy bed!
He's also expanded his selection of toys to include about anything fun looking he can find in the kitchen. Sometimes while I'm unloading the dish washer is when he likes to come over and see what he can snatch and go play with.
He likes climbing into his high chair so he can play at the table.
He's a great kitchen companion while I'm making dinner.
He's a great chef!! ;)
And, of course, he loves to get out and go swimming and for walks. It's nice being home with Jared during the day. We nearly always get the pool to ourselves. :) We actually don't have any pool toys, except for his alligator, but I don't think Jared has noticed the difference. He's always able to find some toys that have been left out by someone else or other things to play with.
He discovered today that if he lays on his back he can get his hair wet without getting his face wet so he was rolling on his back a lot, and then rolling back over. It was funny; he thought it was so much fun.
It's fun being a toddler!!
