Christmas in February

It's always fun when there are late comer Christmas presents, because then it drags out the Christmas fun a little longer.
In February we received a package from Utah with a bunch of fun different goodies: clothes, books, homemade apple-butter (Yum!!).
Karl 2 months old
Karl wasn't quite old enough to open his own gifts yet, but he was able hold them for me.
Jared especially loved these window crayons and being able to draw on the table and windows. He also got a new pair of homemade BYU pajamas! He looked pretty classy in them. :-)
We made sure to put up a Happy Valentine's Day message for Daddy pretty soon after getting those crayons. Jared made sure it was extra colorful so Daddy would notice the message.
We are so grateful to have such generous loved ones!!

Birthday, Valentine's Day, Anniversary

February 12-14, 2014

Ryan and I always have a fun week when our anniversary, Valentine's Day, and my birthday come around. We usually like to make a weekend of. But, this year I made a whole two weeks of it. Starting on the first of the month I started leaving notes and gifts around the house for Ryan.
He was very surprised on the first day and then thought it was over. Little did he know it was only the beginning. Each day until our anniversary he found something in his lunch or somewhere around the house, or even in his mail at work. It was a lot of fun doing it, but hopefully he knows a lot better now how much he means to me. :-)
On the day of our 4th anniversary we had a BBQ rib dinner, something we'd never done before and that was, for us, a fancy dinner.
That night, Ryan went to play basketball at the church with the men in the ward. Little did I know he was making me a little surprise while he was there. He brought me home this cake that said, "Happy Days" to wish me a Happy Anniversary and an early Happy Birthday and Valentine's Day. It was really cute and the frosting was cotton candy flavor, a flavor we love around this house. He made it a fish theme to indicate things to come.
On my birthday, which was a Friday, we all went to a hotel near our home to go swimming and celebrate together. It was a lot of fun; it was Karl's first time swimming and he seemed to enjoy it, or at least to enjoy being held and watching Ryan and Jared play. I got a lot of comments about how cute he was. For my birthday I got a lot of supplies for starting a fish tank. I still need to set it all up, but I'm very excited to finally have some fish again. Yay!! It was a very fun week for us! :-)
