This weekend, we had a lot of fun spending time with the Anderson's (Ryan's parents), Jacobs (my parents and two siblings), Beamans (my sister and her family), and Stitts (Ryan's adopted sister and niece).
The Air Show
On Saturday, we went to the air show while Tandalaya baby-sat, and it sure is a good thing we left Jared home, because it was a cold, rainy day. It wasn't rainy at first, so we were able to enjoy the air show just fine, except for the cold. Ryan and I had left our jackets home in Sandy because it was so warm when we left. While we were there Mark and Kris took good care of us and went and bought themselves two sweater souvenirs. Ryan and I were very grateful!
The show started out with some parachuters flying around in the sky.
After the chuters landed, we got to watch the Red Eagles fly. They did some pretty neat synchronized tricks and dives.
This is the Diamond Back getting ready to take off and then doing some crazy looking tumbles! There were 18 different performances and we didn't get to see them all, but what we did see was really neat.

The beginning of the show was pretty neat and I'm glad we got to go. When it started raining we moved our chairs underneath a pavilion and even used a tablecloth for a blanket and watched the show from there. After maybe a half hour or so after it started raining the show was put on hold. The pilots were "asking not to have to fly [those] conditions."

We decided to go look at the planes that were sitting out by the hangers. We went to this cargo plane, since it was the only one close by that you didn't have to stand in a line out in the rain to get inside. When we went in we found tons of people sitting and standing around just trying to get out of the rain. Luckily it was a really big air plane. While we were inside Ryan told me about some of the things inside the plane; luckily I had him there.
We ended up going back the next day to see some of the second half of the show, that we had missed from going home early Saturday. I'm glad we went back. Seeing the Thunderbird jet squadron was probably the highlight of the whole show.
At first, there were just four synchronized jets flying around, doing some pretty neat stunts, then there were six. The went for maybe a half an hour and we couldn't keep our eyes off the sky. It was fun and hopefully we can do it again sometime, but with better weather. =)

Pies
On Sunday and Monday, I got around to making a couple pies. I made us and the Jacobs a Apricot Pie, and I made the Beaman's a Peach-Blueberry Pie. Delicious!

Memorial Day
Memorial Day was Tandalaya's birthday, so before going anywhere, we opened presents with her.
Mid-morning, we went on a fishing-picnic trip. We went to Weber River to fish. Mark recommended it because that's where he used to fish with his brothers when he was young. It was a nice spot. While Ryan was scouting out a good fishing spot, I fed Jared and then left him with four trusty babysitters while I joined Ryan.

It was a beautiful day out and a great fishing spot. It was a good opportunity for everyone to relax.
This was our catch of the day. The water was kind of shallow, but we found some promising looking pools of water and even saw some fish jump, but this is all we caught. We were planning on doing catch and release, so we released it. ;)
We had fun spending time together and enjoying the scenery. Even though there was a train track right next to the river, it was very peaceful. One of the train engineers waved at us and Ryan nodded and waved his pole. It was kind of random, but funny. :) After fishing we went back to the picnic table and had Marks delicious grilled Koegel hotdogs. Yum! We had a fun time and Jared got his first tan. =)
