Early this summer, we took our first family outing to Grand Rapids. We decided to go see what kind of stuff they had going on for the Art Festival. When we first got there, one of the main things we enjoyed was listening to the live music from the local bands who played original songs and some popular hits. One of the bands we were most impressed with, Fire Alarm, was completely made up of about five kids who looked like they were in the 6th grade.
As we walked around we found two areas for kids. One for making crafts with wood and glue and another for painting. Jared wanted to do the one for painting. So we waited and watched while he worked on his master piece.
He kept smiling over at us and really looked like he was enjoying getting to paint with the other kids.
After that, we walked around some more. I watched the boys draw with chalk in a large open sidewalk area while Ryan and Emmaline went into a pavilion that was full of little booths where people were selling their crafts and art work. The boys and I joined him just in time to help pick out some fun art work from one of the venders.
